Keep it Like a Secret

Today on the Train

12:14 p.m., Jun. 24, 2003

I started commuting by train again this week. Driving into work, while saving me a few minutes in the morning, was literally taking years off my life.

You see much, much more interesting things when you take the train and walk. In the past two days, I've seen the following by or in the train station:

  • A crack vial
  • Three empty bottles of Remy Martin strewn across three blocks
  • A man unloading a van of dead, gutted, yet whole, pigs (I've actually seen this before.)
  • A woman reading VC Andrews in public
  • Another woman got on the train, opened a plastic container of ricotta cheese, licked the cover, drank two sips of it and then closed it and went to sleep.

You just don't see that kind of shit when you drive.

Summer fruit is oh so good.

Do we even have spring anymore? Or is that what all the rain is supposed to be?
