So it is That Day.
I'm still incredibly saddened by it. That's not some massive revelation though - I suppose only cold-hearted snakes could be anything but saddened by it.
Carol Marin, who is one of my favorite journalists, wrote a piece for the Tribune this week that pretty much sums up how I feel about the way things have gone in this country since That Day.
Each one of those cut-off lives deserves better remembrances than this ridiculous War on Terror. Their ends were tragic and undeserved - and their legacy deserves better.
My thoughts and hearts are with my New York and DC peeps today. The events of That Day certainly affect me emotionally, but I didn't have to live it. And I still don't. I know my pals on the East Coast do, and I hope they find the strength they need today.
